2019: Bashir Ahmad Caught Using PDP Taraba Rally for Buhari in Taraba
Bashir Ahmad, personal assistant on new media to President Muhammadu Buhari, used a picture from the campaign rally of Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Taraba state to campaign for his principal.
Atiku and his team visited Taraba on Tuesday. A newspaper advertorial placed the picture from the campaign on its front page, with a message thanking the people of the state for coming out to receive Buhari.
The picture was also captioned: “A section of the crowd at the Atiku Abubakar presidential campaign flag-off in Jalingo, Taraba state, on Tuesday, February 5, 2019.”
However, Ahmad uploaded a picture of the advertorial on his Twitter handle, portraying it as taken at Buhari’s rally in the state.
The picture Ahmad tweeted
Buhari held his re-election campaign in Taraba on Thursday.
“Thank you, Tarabans! #PMBInTarabaa,” Ahmad wrote.
